Irani Cup Format & Teams
The Irani Cup is a one-off First Class cricket match that is organised by the BCCI. The match is contested by the reigning Ranji Trophy champion and a multi-state Rest of India side that is composed of cricketers from the other state teams.
The competition was first played in March 1960. The Rest of India has he most titles having won 30 times, although they are assured of their place in the match against whichever side wins the Ranji Trophy. Therefore, Mumbai are the most successful side with 15 triumphs.
