Women's T20 World Cup Cricket Schedule

The Women's T20 World Cup is the biggest international Twenty20 event in women's cricket.

Boasting the best teams and players in the game, the T20 World Cup deals in massive sixes, cartwheeling wickets and stunning results. The first edition was played in England back in 2009, with the tournament growing in popularity with each iteration that has gone by.

While the likes of Australia, India and England are the favourites to win most tournaments, the gap between the sides at the top and the rest is shrinking. This simply means that if a supposed lesser side is to have a good run, they could challenge for the trophy.

    Women's T20 World Cup Format

The format of the Women's T20 World Cup sees 12 sides qualifying for the tournament. These teams are split into two groups of six sides. Each team will play the other five teams in their group once. The top two sides from each group advance to the knockout stages.

From there, there will be two semi-finals before a final in which the world champion will be crowned.

Each match will be played in the T20 format. This means that teams have a maximum of 20 overs (120 deliveries) with the bat and 20 overs in the field. As the shortest of the three formats, a T20 is seen as the most exciting of the three major types of the game, with batters looking to go big early and bowlers desperate to take wickets.

AustraliaAustralia are the most successful side at the Women's T20 World Cup and they will be the side most back to storm to yet another title.
EnglandEngland have done a good job of matching Australia on the pitch more consistently, but they are still behind their biggest rivals across each of the three major formats.
IndiaLike England, India have shown that they are a match for Australia, but putting it all together has been an issue at the World Cup, with a runners-up medal in 2020 their best finish in the T20 game.
New Zealand Securing their first ever T20 World Cup title in 2024, it felt like a watershed moment for New Zealand as they finally brought an end to a long and frustrating run without silverware at the World Cup.
    • World Cup Winner: The market most bettors head for when it comes to wagering on futures markets. This market will provide customers with the opportunity to wager on which of the sides will secure the trophy this year. While a favourite like Australia will be the team to beat, backing one of the sides just behind the big favourites may prove a shrewd choice.
    • Top Match Bowler: While people come to see batters smashing the ball to all corners of the pitch, the bowling markets are also very important. If a bowler can force the runs to dry up then this means the batters will lose patience as the pressure ramps up, forcing them into making mistakes. To win in this market, you simply need to back the bowler that will take the most wickets in the game.
