T20 World Cup Cricket Schedule

The Men's Twenty20 World Cup is the biggest cricket competition in the shortest format of the game. England, India and the West Indies are the most successful sides in the Men's T20 World Cup winning twice each. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia have all won the competition once each.

In 2026, the top 20 teams in the men's game will descend on India and Sri Lanka, with just over a month of T20 cricket culminating in one side being the best men's T20 team on the planet. As the reigning champions, India will be confident, but they face a big challenge if they are to outlast all other competitors.

    Key Teams & Prospects

Team (Years Won The T20 World Cup)
    Prospects
India (2007, 2024)As tournament co-hosts and reigning champions, India will have a huge amount of expectation on their shoulders. While they are used to this, they will not want to have to wait another 17 years for a World Cup crown, with their adoring fans expecting another triumph in 2026.
Australia (2021)Despite only winning the competition once in 2021, Australia are still very much a big player in the T20 game. Crammed full of quality bowlers and big hitters, this Aussie side will likely have a big say at the tournament this year.
England (2010, 2022)While performances in Test and ODI cricket can be quite up and down, England have been excellent in the shortest format for some time. With the likes of Jos Buttler and Phil Salt at the top of the order, expect fireworks.
South Africa South Africa need to find a way to end years of hurt in the T20 game as they aim to clinch the trophy for the first time in their history.
New Zealand Like South Africa, New Zealand are aiming to prove they have what it takes to secure the crown. The worry will be that beating any of the four afore-mentioned teams at the competition is far easier said than done.
Sri Lanka (2014)Sri Lanka may have slipped down the pecking order in recent years, but as co-hosts, they will be confident that they can ruffle the feathers of the top four sides.
