    Teams & Format

The tournament is a first-class cricket competition. The format sees teams placed straight into knockout fixtures. The champions and runners-up from the previous season go straight into the semi-finals, with the other four battling in the quarter-finals.

The teams that currently play in the competition are:

    • North Zone
    • South Zone
    • Central Zone
    • East Zone
    • North East Zone
    • West Zone

The West Zone is the most successful side in the history of the competition, with 19 wins across their 33 finals appearances.
    • Tournament Winner: With six sides battling for the trophy in a single eliminator bracket, the tournament is a one-chance competition in which only teams that play at the top of their level in each game will survive. While there are always favourites in a tournament, due to the fact there are no second chances, the supposed top side could have one bad game and get eliminated. This makes betting on the tournament winner of the Duleep Trophy even more exciting as any side could win.
    • Top Batter: As a first-class cricket match, teams will have two innings to bat in each outing. This simply means that batters will have double the number of chances they would get in a T20 or 50 over game. Whether you wager on the top batter in a specific match or the top batter at the tournament, you will find good odds available on most selections when it comes to scoring the most runs.
