Metro Bank One-Day Cup Format & Teams
The One-Day Cup was created in 2014 and sees 18 teams from England and Wales battling to lift the trophy.
The competition is played in the 50 over format, meaning each side has a maximum of 50 overs to bat and 50 overs to bowl. The format is longer than the Twenty20 game and shorter than Test cricket.
The tournament is a round-robin tournament at first with two groups of nine teams. The groups are split into the North and South groups up until 2021. Since then, the groups have been decided via a draw.
Currently, the top three teams from each group progress to the knockout stages. They battle to play in the final, which is currently held at Trent Bridge.
