Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Saint Lucia Kings Predictions

The two top teams on the table both have seven wins from 10 matches, but the Amazon have the superior net run rate. They have also won the last two matches against the Kings, including their group match on Saturday, so I am backing them to win this match to leapfrog into the final.

Guyana Amazon Warriors’ Shai Hope has scored 71, 56 & 28 in his last 3 innings.
Guyana Amazon Warriors’ Shimron Hetmyer has scored three 50s in his last 5 innings.
Saint Lucia Kings’ Faf du Plessis hit four sixes and seven fours in his 92 off 59 balls against the Amazon.
Saint Lucia Kings’ Johnson Charles hit eight sixes in his 89 off 40 balls against Trinbago.

Head-to-Head

The Amazon have also won three of the last four completed matches against the Kings, who have won just one of those matches.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Form

After winning four matches in a row, the Amazon went down to Trinbago to the tune of 74 runs.

Trinbago racked up 211/5 off their 20 overs, with Shamar Joseph’s 3/50 being the best return from the Amazon bowlers.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (36 off 22 balls) and Shai Hope (28 off 19 balls) got the chase off to a great start and were on track at 64/1 in the seventh over before they collapsed to 88/8. Their tail wagged thanks to Gudakesh Motie (26*) and Imran Tahir (20), but they were bowled out for 137 off 18.5 overs.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Team News

The Amazon have been in great form, but their batters and bowlers all failed to fire against a powerful Trinbago side, so they will be hoping to turn their form around to earn their place in the final.

Saint Lucia Kings Form

The Kings’ five-match run of wins ended when they lost to the Amazon by 35 runs in their last League match.

The Amazon batters were on song, racking up 207/7 off their 20 overs, despite great bowling from Alzarri Joseph (2/39), Noor Ahmad (2/26) and David Wiese (3/43).

The Kings collapsed to 75/5 before David Wiese helped Faf du Plessis lift the score to 101 off 12.3 overs before Wiese fell for 14 off nine balls. Alzarri Joseph (25*) and Faf du Plessis (92* off 59 balls) added an undefeated 67 for the ninth wicket, but it was not enough to avoid a 35-run loss.

Saint Lucia Kings Team News

Faf du Plessis played the innings of his life in the Kings la'st match against the Amazon, but he will be hoping for more support from his team-mates, as none of the Kings' top seven other than Du Plessis scored more than 14.

Verdict

Guyana Amazon Warriors v Saint Lucia Kings

I am backing Guyana Amazon Warriors to win. I am also backing Shai Hope to top score for Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Faf du Plessis is a good bet to top score for the Saint Lucia Kings.
