They started the season with a thumping four-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians at home, but since then, they have lost to Bengaluru, Rajasthan, and Delhi. The last two defeats came away from home.

The lack of firepower from the batters is a big concern for CSK, with only Ruturaj Gaikwad (121 runs, SR 155.12) scoring consistently at or more than an SR of 130. The bowling unit looks settled with Noor Ahmad (ten wickets) and Khaleel Ahmed (eight wickets) impressing.
