It's a quick chance for Bengaluru to avenge the defeat at home on Thursday. Whatever is the result, they could still be starting with a bang. I am backing RCB to score the most powerplay runs.

Bengaluru hit the most powerplay runs in 5 of 6 matches, considering only 20-over matches.
Punjab conceded the most runs in the powerplay in 2 of their last 4 matches, which were played across 20 overs.
Bengaluru scored the most powerplay in 3 of their last 4 matches played across 20 overs.
RCB have conceded the fewest runs per match in the powerplay this season (45).

Head to Head

Punjab and Bengaluru have played each other in 34 matches so far, with Punjab enjoying a slight edge, having won 18 fixtures and lost 16.

When these sides last met in Bengaluru on Friday, Punjab won the 14-over game by five wickets. They restricted Bengaluru to 95 for 9, which could have been worse if not for Tim David (50 off 26). Yuzvendra Chahal (2 for 11) and Marco Jansen (2 for 10) led Punjab’s charge. The chase was proving tricky, but Nehal Wadhera (33* off 19) managed to close it out.

Punjab Kings Form

Punjab went to ten points with their fifth win in seven matches coming on Friday. They won their last two matches at this venue and will hope to end their home season on a high.

The Kings will continue to pin their hopes on captain Shreyas Iyer (257 runs, 3x50 scores in seven matches). It’s the poor returns of Glenn Maxwell (41 runs, SR 100) that are of bigger concern for Punjab.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s inspired performances in the last two matches (4 for 28 and 2 for 11) are the talk of the town. The spinner is likely to be once again key for their hopes.

Harpreet Brar played his first match of the season and had a good game until David spoilt his figures. Will he get another game?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Form

Royal Challengers are fourth in the points tally with eight points from seven matches (W4, L3). They can still catch up with their hosts with a win here, although a defeat could pull them into the mid-table logjam.

David burst to life with a sparkling half-century on Thursday, his first in his IPL career. It’s still the case of Virat Kohli (249 runs) and Rajat Patidar (212 runs) laying the right platform for the Bengaluru team.

The bowling duties have been shared, but the lack of penetration from Yash Dayal in recent games (0 for 18, 1 for 36, and 1 for 45) is a minor concern.

RCB were surprised by benching Devdutt Padikkal even when they were batting. He should make his way back into the side.
