Format & Schedule
The Big Bash League is the top level of men's Twenty20 cricket in Australia. Each side is given a maximum of 20 overs to bat and 20 overs in the field. The T20 game is the shortest of the three formats of the game, but it is the most explosive, with teams looking to score big in the short time between the start and end of their innings.
The competition is played as a double round-robin format between the eight teams. The top sides move into knockout rounds which feature rounds including the Qualifier, Knockout and Challenger before the Grand Final.
