England continued their winning start to the series with back-to-back wins over New Zealand. The Crowe-Thorpe trophy is already secured, but they are likely to go all-out for a series sweep with the third match to be played at Seddon Park in Hamilton starting this Friday.

The visitors are favourites to win here, and that's purely on the basis of their form in this series. There are so many strong players on the English side, and they are bound to give them an edge. I am backing them to win once again here.

- New Zealand lost their last 4 home matches (Tests)
Head to Head
New Zealand played England in 114 Tests so far, and the record is skewed in favour of the Poms. The Kiwis won just 13, lost 54, and the remaining 47 ended in draws.
The first match in Christchurch saw England win by eight wickets. They followed it up with a comprehensive 323-run win in the second match in Wellington.
New Zealand Form
New Zealand is out of contention for the WTC final after losing the first two Tests. They are sixth in the standings with 44.23 percentage points.
Kane Williamson has been the best batter for the Kiwis with 195 runs in the series, coming from two 50+ scores. Tom Blundell has scored their lone century in this series, albeit in a losing cause in the second innings of the second Test.
Matt Henry, with nine wickets, has been the best bowler for New Zealand. Nathan Smith (six wickets, 80 runs) has impressed with both bat and ball.
New Zealand Team News
Devon Conway takes a break to attend the birth of his child, and Will Young is set to slot in his place. Tim Southee should get a game in his farewell Test, which means Mitch Santner could play in place of William O’Rourke.
England Form
England jumped above New Zealand with consecutive wins that took them to 45.24 percentage points but are out of contention for a place in the final.
The Poms have already won the series and could look to celebrate their success with another victory here. Their charge is led by Harry Brook (349 runs), who has two 100s and one fifty from the three innings played.
Among the bowlers, it’s Brydon Carse (16 wickets) who has impressed with crucial breakthroughs. Gus Atkinson (eight wickets) has been the next best for the visitors.
England Team News
England played both matches with the same XI and could repeat the same team here.

Verdict
New Zealand couldn’t build up from the 3-0 series win in India and looked like a completely different team here. Both the defeats against England showcased their deficiencies, and the Kiwis could once again come second-best. This is Tim Southee’s farewell Test, but I am backing England to spoil his chances and win here.
